Description
The Cabernet Sauvignon Greenwing originates in the eastern region of Washington state, amidst the extreme and sunny landscapes of the Columbia Valley, where hot summer days, cold nights, and minimal rainfall create ideal conditions for perfect grape maturation. This wine pays homage to the winemaking tradition of the region and the heritage of The Duckhorn Portfolio, offering a dynamic and modern interpretation of one of the world's most celebrated grape varieties.
The wine is produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Syrah, fermented and aged for 16 months in stainless steel and French oak barrels, 30% of which are new. This approach allows for the preservation of the fruity expression of the terroir while simultaneously adding complexity through the calibrated contribution of the wood.
On the nose, it opens with lively aromas of wild strawberry, cherry, and ripe plum, accompanied by notes of sweet spices and earthy hints. On the palate, it stands out for its dynamic entry with references to pomegranate and raspberry, followed by nuances of candied fig and juicy plum. The balance between weight and freshness gives the wine an impeccable structure and a lingering finish.
Ideal to pair with roasted red meats, baked lamb, or spicy dishes based on game.
