Description
The Jordan Barrel Fermented Chardonnay is a South African white wine produced in the Stellenbosch region, made from Chardonnay grapes grown on south and east-facing slopes, at altitudes between 250 and 310 meters. The vineyards, with vines aged between 25 and 40 years, benefit from the marine influences of False Bay, which contribute to a slow ripening and a distinctive aromatic complexity.
The hand-harvested grapes are fermented in new and second-fill French oak barrels, where the wine matures on the lees for 9 months with periodic bâtonnage. A small percentage of stainless steel-fermented Chardonnay is added to balance the aromatic and structural components, giving the wine elegance and depth.
On the nose, it opens with aromas of lemon biscuit and ripe orange, enriched with notes of hazelnut and vanilla. On the palate, it is full and creamy, with lively freshness and a well-balanced structure, culminating in a long and harmonious finish.
Ideal to pair with grilled fish dishes, roast poultry, or creamy risottos.
